South Salem Baseball

Little League believes in the power of youth baseball and softball to teach life lessons that build stronger individuals and communities.

Our goal is to provide an enriching baseball experience for kids in the greater South Salem area. We are a recreational league that focuses on player development, team work, and community. As a member of Little League International (LLI) our mission is consistent with that of LLI.

League Age Info

The Age Determination Date for a Little League Baseball player is the actual age of a child on August 31 of the current year.
 
Example 1: Player turns 12 years old on August. 31st 2025. This player's League Age is 12 for the 2025 season
Example 2: Player turns 12 years old on October. 1st 2025. This player's League Age is 11 for the 2025 season.

Equipment Info

Required

• Cleats: must be molded rubber. Metal spikes are permissible for players participating in the Junior division only.
• Glove
• Bat
• Sliding shorts: for AA and above
• Baseball pants in team color: no shorts in tee ball or baseball
  
• Batting helmet
• Appropriate safety gear is required for anyone playing catcher. This includes a protective cup for practice and games.

Recommended

• Baseball socks in team color
• Baseball belt in team color
• Base layer (sleeves) in team color for cold weather games
• Bat bag
  

Baseball Fields

The home field for South Salem Little League Baseball is located at Turner City Park, 7050 5th St, Turner, OR 97392

Additionally many games are played at Judson Middle School, 4512 Jones Rd SE, Salem, OR 97302.

SSLL is a part of OR District 7 and participates in interleague play with the other District 7 leagues. Each D7 league host games at their local fields and SSLL teams may play at any of these locations.
